The guys on the Wilderness Immersion course have made their way to Panama and are exploring the islands of Bocas del Toro on sea kayak. Next week, they will start working towards their NAUI Scuba diving certifications.
These students have conquered the hiking portion of their adventure and are now headed to Manuel Antonio to catch some waves! They’ll also have the opportunity to explore one of Costa Rica’s most famous national parks.
Our Hike & Homestay group has finished their time at the beach. They are on their way back to our base and tomorrow morning will be heading off to Costa Rica’s famed Pacuare River to battle some rapids.
Our newly certified Scuba divers have finished their time in the water for this trip. They headed to San Jose for some shopping and have an exciting day of ziplining planned for tomorrow before they head home on Sunday!
Our Scuba diving chica scouts leave today! They returned from Panama on Wednesday night and yesterday were able to enjoy their final day of course to the fullest with a day of whitewater rafting on the Pejibaye River. The ladies captured some awesome pictures of their adventures both above and under water, so make sure to check them out on Facebook and Flickr.
These chica scouts have earned a little R&R after finishing the major hiking portion of their course, including a 21km trek! They’re enjoying their time Piedras Blancas and staying with local families in the region. They’ll get to know the community through activities like a tree climb, waterfall rappel, making tortillas, and playing fútbol with the locals.
These service-focused ladies are finishing up their first major project in Gandoca, where they’ve been working with a local sea turtle conservation group. This weekend they’ll head back to our base in Tres Rios to spend a day ziplining on a canopy tour and exploring the local artisan markets of San Jose. The girls will then head back out for their next service project near Playa Tulín!
After a trip to Corcovado in the Osa Peninsula, the gang from Daniels Academy is back and ready to tackle the Rio General! The boys and their teachers will take part in a 3-day river trip where they will paddle hard, learn technical river skills and enjoy beautiful scenery during the day. The group will set up camp in the evenings on the river banks with the sounds of rushing waters to lull them to sleep. Have a great time, guys! We will welcome the boys back to our San Ramón de Tres Rios base on Sunday.
