We can build a specialized adventure for your group! Costa Rica Outward Bound programs are led by certified instructors who nurture leadership and personal growth through wilderness-based adventure activities in a bilingual setting.

Whether you are looking to focus on service, language and cultural immersion, adventure, team building or leadership challenges, we can help you build an amazing trip to Costa Rica, Nicaragua or Panama. Always an adventure at every turn, you will experience a personalized trip that includes everything you want in a time frame that works for you!

Who Can Build an Adventure?

Any group of five or more can design a customized Outward Bound experience. Participating groups include: academic institutions, alternative break and service programs, scouting troops, corporate teams, faith-based organizations, and friends and families.

While we typically work with students age 13-24, we welcome participants of varying ages. Your itinerary will be customized to the size, ages and physical fitness of your group.

Our highly trained staff works side-by-side with you to ensure the safety and enrichment of students as they experience first-hand the wonders of Costa Rica’s wildlife, rivers, beaches, volcanoes, rainforests and culture. Let us know your trip goals and we will work with you to build an amazing customized adventure to Costa Rica, Panama and/or Nicaragua!

We will build a unique customized course just for you, so please do not feel limited by the courses you find posted on our website. If you want to do an activity we do not mention, let us know and we will work to make it happen.

Community Service Focus

There are many ways you can get involved with service projects in Central America. Whether you want to focus on rural communities, wildlife, the environment or any other area, we can help you make a difference! We have facilitated service projects in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama.

Leadership Expeditions

Leadership development is one of the central pillars of Costa Rica Outward Bound. Through a variety of activities and challenges, we help develop leadership skills within your group and for every individual that foster teamwork, introspective thought and personal growth. Costa Rica Outward Bound instructors guide students through a process of developing new skills and perspectives by reflecting on how leadership styles on course parallel other challenges in life.
