Description

Travel to Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast, home to some of the world’s most famous surfing beaches, with Catching Waves! You will have the opportunity to learn how to surf or improve your existing surfing skills along beautiful, white and black sand beaches.

Meet girl scouts from all over the U.S., experience a variety of water and beach-based activities, and learn about surf dynamics and philosophy, coastal ecology and environmental conservation. Build your self-confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.

This course is offered in partnership with GSUSA destinations exclusively for current girl scouts ages 13-18. Scouts must submit a destinations application to their local council. Late applicants welcome!

Dates & Tuition:
  • Course Duration: 10 days
  • Session #1: June 21 – July 1, 2012
  • Session #2: July 24 – August 3, 2012
  • Tuition: $1,415
Course Overview
  • Focus on surfing and beach activities
  • Ability to swim at an advanced level required
  • Additional adventure activities include: whitewater rafting, community service and a zipline canopy tour
  • Must be a good team player
  • Girls will be camping or staying in student dorms with bunk beds (all camping supplies and bedding provided)
