Description

The Costa Rica Service Challenge course provides you an exciting opportunity to experience a new culture through service projects and adventure activities. If you’re looking for the ultimate challenge while making a difference, this is the course for you!

You will work to improve the lives of Costa Rica’s rural, indigenous peoples and to protect the unique and fragile ecosystems of this beautiful country. Meet other girl scouts, expand your cultural awareness and leave Costa Rica better than you found it.

This course is offered in partnership with GSUSA destinations exclusively for current girl scouts ages 13-18. Scouts must submit a destinations application to their local council. Late applicants welcome!

Dates & Tuition:
  • Course Duration: 15 days
  • Session #1: June 26 – July 11, 2012
  • Session #2: July 15 – July 30, 2012
  • Tuition: $1,995
Course Overview
  • Focus on community service
  • Interest in cultural exchange required; Spanish skills helpful
  • Additional adventure activities may include: whitewater rafting, surfing and a zipline canopy tour
  • Must be a good team player
  • Girls will be camping or staying in student dorms with bunk beds (all camping supplies and bedding provided)
