Description

Underwater Explorers offers the ultimate blend of ocean, land and culture. On course, you will explore marine and coastal life along the beautiful Caribbean archipelago of Bocas del Toro, Panama.

You will earn your NAUI scuba diver certification, meet girl scouts from all parts of the U.S., test your leadership skills, and have a wide range of adventures. You will also experience a taste of Costa Rica while whitewater rafting and ziplining through the cloud forest canopy!

This course is offered in partnership with GSUSA destinations exclusively for current girl scouts ages 13-18. Scouts must submit a destinations application to their local council. Late applicants welcome!

  • Course Duration: 13 days

  • Session #2: July 7 – July 20, 2012
  • Session #3: July 25 – August 7, 2012

Course Overview
  • Focus on scuba diving and Panama
  • Intermediate-level swimming ability required
  • Additional adventure activities include: whitewater rafting, community service and a zipline canopy tour
  • Must be a good team player
  • Girls will be camping or staying in student dorms with bunk beds (all camping supplies and bedding provided)
