Code of Conduct

I understand that my attitude and behavior are critical to the success of this course. Therefore, for the good of this course, as well as my fellow group members, I agree to abide by the following:

I WILL respect the places and the people with whom I come in contact on my course.

I WILL NOT bring, purchase or use alcohol, tobacco products or illegal drugs during any portion of my Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound School course.

I WILL NOT engage in sexual activity while on my Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound School course.

I WILL be responsible for my personal belongings and equipment and will not hold Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound School responsible for their loss or damage due to my negligence or neglect.

I WILL treat equipment provided by the Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound School with care. I understand that I will be assessed for damages of this equipment in the event that my use of such equipment is negligent or abusive.

I WILL refrain from use of profanity and abusive language while on course.

I WILL be an active participant on my course and will do my best to engage in new activities, work as part of a group and follow instructions.

I WILL obey all safety guidelines established by my instructors on my course.

I UNDERSTAND that all costs or charges involved in my removal or voluntary withdrawal from course due to misconduct will be my responsibility.

Message to Parents

By sending your child on a Costa Rica Outward Bound course, you are making an investment in their growth and development.

In order to maximize their growth potential and to ensure their safety and the safety of the other participants on course, we require that each student reviews and agrees to uphold our Code of Conduct.

We are fully dedicated to helping all students challenge themselves and push themselves to complete their courses, but ultimately we can not force an unwilling student to stay. If a student violates the Code of Conduct they will be removed from their course and sent home at their own expense. Please note that we do not refund course tuitions if a student is expelled from their course.

If your child is under 18 years old, we require that both you and they sign and submit our online Code of Conduct.
