Build an Adventure

Outward Bound Peace

Outward Bound Peace has been hiking in the Piedras Blancas community and learning about peaceful practices, staying with local families and participating in farm activities that make up the everyday lives of Ticos who live rurally. Participants will perform a ‘solo’–where they will be alone in the evening time to reflect on their experiences with Outward Bound and the lessons they have learned thus far.

Virginia Girl Scout Troop

A Virginia Girl Scout Troop went to Playa Avellanas to do a service project helping to secure a habitat for sea turtles (night patrol to catch poachers, cleaning nesting areas, etc). They worked with a local non-profit to protect the beach and make sure it safe and secure for sea turtles. They also participated in a 5-day surf program where the girls were instructed by an expert about how to surf.
